happy new year! | 7:34 AM

Happy New Year!

in 15 Minutes or so.

2007's definitely been one of the most fufilling years i've ever experienced, with more responsibilities and pressure being placed on me as such. Though it was admittingly much harder then 2006 and previous years, I couldn't have asked for anymore, except ask for more experiences like this to shape character. 2007 taught me how to shield my emotions, keep cool under pressure, squeeze out all energy you might have to survive, thrive and revive.

It taught me how to cry without tears rolling down your face, it taught me how to smile without showing teeth, it taught me how to write a name so I could see a face, it taught me how to love and hate.

Especially meeting you, it makes it all the better.

Happy Nouvel An!

konichiwa reader-san!

So, well, 2007 eh? Maybe it'll be better if i separate feelings from professional-ism when dealing with such a touchy subject.

I'd probably do my new year resolutions tomorrow. It's the start of the new year anyway, so they're due!

January to March:
I don't remember much, except for the fact that everyone in class had really grown a lot taller. This means that I stay at the bottom few in the class, literally. Tramp Competition's coming up!

April:
Hello to you!
Trampoline Competition - royal screw-up. I'm expecting stoning to occur nowadays, especially with the mobs carrying the signs "WE LOST BY FRIGGIN 0.15 THANKS TO YOU!" and with those sharp pitchforks and all. Apparently it's still remembered by mao mao, no thanks to me for missing it.
It still kinda hurts, no?

May to June:
Major stress period. B Division at Sec 2 isn't easy, especially when you're new to the bar apparatus and all. Thanks a bunch to the gym guys, you didn't make me feel useless. Skip to the non-feeling part.

July:
Artistic Competition. In a way, it was a second chance to try everything out. I really tried for vault, I really did. Maybe it's not in my blood to get a friggin individual at all no matter which apparatus. But still, it wasn't that bad considering that meeting old friends was always, a blast.
Missed gym dinner though, due to some promise I had to make. Thanks for the pictures, everyone.

August-October:
MMP (Major Mugging Period) where computer time unfortunately had to be cut down and 1 hour of work had to be set aside. Guess i really should keep it up like this, helps my grades by like 0.2 difference in GPA or stuff.

End of Years - in Fashion. This was the period in time which you find people like patrick studying their brains out, their hair barely visible over their textbooks and notes that the teachers graciously piled on and on, much to the delight of some. After End-of years (till November) the students definitely decided it was time to relax, much to the consternation of some teachers who absolutely refused cards.

It's a school rule now though - no cards at all. byebye uno :(

That was the really dry part. I'll do more later.

denial of you're free. | 7:20 AM

RIPB training camp was sian; pressurising; patience-wracking; hilarious; fun.

Depends on how you view it.

--

Never easy ; isn't it.

He had ended up digressing about something he could only vaguely remember - maybe it was about the current rainy weather. And as usual, she had believed that their meeting was just another of those chat sessions they had rather rarely. He had enjoyed it, no doubt, but as usual he hadn't been able to talk about his most dreaded topic.

Which seemed pretty awfully embarrassing when there was a curious moment in which he stood there shellshocked, with his rapidly flushing face and rising body temperature. To make things even worse, his ever-so-smooth-and-graceful self had knocked over the glass of water while stammering ( whilst thinking of something to say to break the pleasurable silence in which she was looking at him curiously).

A rather impatient waiter's few minutes were wasted trying to cordon off the area where the lethal liquid was expanding.

Thank goodness she had started another subject about her friends and what were they planning to do on Saturday night, whereas he was pretty much stuck at home doing nothing. It was quite easy to go along with her, adding an additional comment or nod whenever necessary.

Satisfying, but not fufilling.

When they both had finished their meals, the weather seemed to join the bandwagon on the December Days. Before long, sheets of powdery rain started tapping on the glass windows and waterproof flowers bloomed instantaneously on the streets before them.

Suggesting that they had better be parting (something that he hoped they never ever had to do), she wanted to run across the road to the bus stop there. Being the person that he was, he had shown up with an impossibly small umbrella that definitely couldn't have encompassed the two of them.

Feigning that he was a fan of water and didn't mind getting wet, he tried sheltering her across the road and almost got knocked over by a car when his gaze was stuck in her direction. A speeding car certainly didn't help things when it had the impeccable timing of zooming across the wet areas when they were by the road side.

Meat shields were definitely feasible as water-shields, he shivered, when he waited with a almost-dry her at the surprisingly empty bus-stop. He gave her his umbrella just in case for emergency purposes, while waving her protests off with the notion that that particular sports car had given him a rather refreshing (if not spectacular) bath and that he was perfectly fine.

The bus finally came and as she clambered onto it, she asked, "Will you be okay?"

"Uh, yeah, i'll be alright!" He attempted what was supposed to be a reassuring face.

She must've fallen for it, for she didn't say anything else. The bus drove off into the grey distance.

It started to rain harder.

--

Quote of the Day:"I'm sorry she's taken, please join the waiting lists."

It seems like
things just aren't the same
what could i say?

i need a little more luck than a little bit
because everytime i get stuck the words won't fit
and everytime i try i get tongue tied
and i need a little good luck to get me by
i need a little more help than a little bit
like that perfect few word no one's heard yet.

Merry Christmas! | 8:29 AM

Merry Christmas once again (i'm quite sure you've heard it already from your relatives and friends) and i'm quite pleased to announce that this is my 300th post (!) assuming that Blogger doesn't get hit by a nuclear bomb and goes kaboom.

Christmas Video Presentation was played a little too fast ; the camera was quite bad too since it wasn't ours (hah. hah.) but on the whole it was pretty okay though we couldn't really hear much at times (i DID tell you guys to speak up) It was shown at the Christmas Eve Dinner where over 500 people turned up.

Christmas party at nicky noko's house was fun. Fashion show ; charades ; trivia, ftw. Videos may be shown.

Anyway ; for the huloolooloo gift exchange, turns out my benefactor was MEGAN! No, not megan fox, but megan loo. haha. Thanks to Qixuan kiko my present turned out to be this nice green shirt. Thanks a bunch!

Tomorrow's RIPB training camp ; and it starts at 7.30AM.

...

This is why i simply have to end the post now. sorry peeeeeeeeeeps i'd be back day after tomorrow!

That is, if i survive.

PS: grow, hair, grow. stupid haircut.

Quote of the Day:
say christmas, not x'mas!

i know it feels like the end
don't wanna be here again
we're gonna make it i swear
and we could help each other

so that we never fall down again.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! | 8:23 AM

MERRY CHRISTMAS PEOPLE!
it's been a hella ride all this while.

Quote of the Day:"Do I seem familiar, I've crossed you in my memories for a thousand times."

Remember - we're celebrating God's Gift to all of us in form of Jesus ; whom is the Son of God and came to die for our sins.

and yes, i believe.

second chance?

i'd do anything; | 8:16 AM

it's christmas eve already!

--

She looked at him patiently.

"Yes?" she enquired.

Once again, he was speechless within those hazel eyes. It was never ever simple, really, trying to say something you wanted to stay true to. Especially for him - he'd never been so close to saying this much to anyone as far as he could remember.

Not that it was helping him. He was already struggling to not use the quickest escape route (that was the door, conveniently locatated on his left) and he constantly reminded himself to say what he had been trying to do all this while.

But what good would it do ; even if she knew?

A: Friendship ruined - he'd prefer commiting harakiri with that butter knife 30 cm in front of him on the cold, marble table.

B: Ignoration - he'd never be able to live with it ; and probably use that butter knife to stab any jerk trying to get near her.

Maybe the stress and trouble wasn't worth it after all. However, in this very exceptional case of hers, he'd do anything. Once again, he cursed his tied-tongue for the umpteenth time as he struggled extraordinarily for an answer.

Not from his mind, but from his heart.

Nothing came out.

you're all i've got; | 4:37 AM

ello world;

this is supposed to be a picture post on the trip to MELBOURNE. but due to very lazy circumstances i've limited them to about 5-6 posts on the ENTIRE stretch of the 5/6 days trip there, so i can go in detail about the beauty of the city there, assuming i have the persistence (that i'm lacking, definitely) to finish all the posts, i'll assume it'll be quite pretty. Which reminds me of uploading the pretty photos to flickr, too.

so, without delaying my hungry readers, we shall begin!

Day 1

the taxi came at about 6.15 as the flight was at 9. so, heaving our very light luggages (besides my father, who had incidentally packed winter clothing) as it was the summer time there. After coincidentally meeting Sam's family (they're going to NZ for 3 weeks, gosh) and even Super Kirk! there, we finally boarded SQ 227.

I've always liked flying on aeroplanes. They give me a real sense of escaping the world for once, and everything stops when you're on a holiday. sounds like some temporal shift in dimensions to me, so we bend the space time continuum!

okay, besides noticing that the airport had plenty of FREE internet services (you can see that from my random tags + post) i was eagerly awaiting the small and cute tv screens they have on board on most flights.

Sad thing was that they didn't have a single decent game (pokemon, WOW.) as mario game was the most outdated version. they didn't even have yoshi! :(

okay readers, revel in my childishness. On to the movies.

anyway, watched the melBOURNE ultimatum ; the latest Jason Bourne movie they had. brilliant i tell you, especially at the end. Transformers was usually good (i have one version due to the courtesy of Ruijie) and then i can't really remember. It got pretty uncomfortable because after a few hours of the very irritating "earmuffs" provided by SIA, my ears got pretty painful.

at least it's better then the china airline services. they are horrible, i tell you. a hell hole, try flying by cathay if you want budget.

getting out of the plane was a relief. pressurized cabins reduce your vital fluids leaving you dehydrated, says an advertisment for some drink. Plane ride took 7 hours, ftw.

so 9pm + 7 hours = ?

if you replied 16 hours, go get yourself a math schoolteacher.

so it was about 4.30 in the morning (singapore time) when we limped out of the airport. 7.30 melbourne time.

first thing i noticed when i stepped outside that the weather there was absolutely, ruddy hell, bloody brilliant. it was like a permanent outdoor aircon, with a temperature about 24 degrees? superb there i tell you, with 1 set of clothing there it was kool, literally.

Our first stop (we tried not to doze off too fast) was the Queen Victoria Market of Melbourne. Sounds chim, but the variety of goods and merchandise you find there is really eye-popping.

Like this! O_O.

For the sole purpose of trying out the photography aspect: Pattern, i have many, really really weird pictures here.

flowers to clothes, etc etc.

that's a top view of clothes, if you didn't realize.

after victoria market was basically some catholic church. forgot its name, but it's nothing short of beautiful, trust me.

pretty shot. my desktop pic now!

inside's just as majestic as the exterior.

beautiful, if you see it in greater detail. you can ask me for any photo that i have in my collection, i''d most probably give you the full version.

some conservatory - look alike that isn't that nice inside, apart from the flies.

YES THE FLIES.

i'd save my anger for them another day.

see the difference?

at night we went to the nightlife of melbourne ; it really reminds me of Singapore river and clarke quay.

magnificent!

I'm too bored to continue. sorry =/

Quote of the Day: "When it was just you and me."

that's all i wanted.

the escape; | 4:24 AM

hello earthlings.

in about 30 minutes i'll be boarding some SIA plane to go to melbourne, the land where airpok is made. and this is basically a customary post from the airport (and, freeloading from the internet that they've kindly provided by SIA.

so; tata people, and i'll be away from 6th to 12th. 13th the date where the straits time newspaper competition's results get released, so keep your fingers crossed.

No quote of the day for you, because the timezone in Sydney is 2 hours different.

cya soon.

hopefully;

hot; | 7:39 AM

time isn't really a factor on my side these days and I find the only time I'm free enough to use the computer is at like 11.30 ++ where my parents are telling me to sleep already.

phototaking with teacher eugene tomorrow! hope i won't be late for TLL replacement class.

RIPB Department Allocation Forms are out! So that means I can either choose from Discipline Board, Human Resource, Welfare, Communications and Gryphon's Committee. I'd probably do it when the write-ups are posted to us over the week though.

Any recommendations?
