RESOLUTIONS!
okay, okay, so maybe i got it like 2 months late or so, but since it's the day after PI'08, i might as well post new things that I and besides, it's a completely random topic and since no one else is doing it now, i thought - hey, why not? (Disclaimer: SORRY IF I SOUND POWER-HUNGRY.) and so here goes: Get a GPA of above 3.4! aha. so what if it sounds a little muggerish? Actually, the aimed target is 3.5 and above, but I really hope i maintain last year's score. But judging from the excellent (see sacarsm in the dictionary) test scores i've gotten back so far ; my worst fears are confirmed. boohoo. note: do not screw up double maths. RIPB '09 EXCO! o_O. I know it's a little bit difficult to attain this position, but after talking to mozzie today I just found out that it's a real pride to lead the school board in one way or another. and besides, Human Resource head/vice head is something like PRO (public relations officer) too! 'Cept, they're much busier. Moses says must be heard. Hope I will be, and this means i'm gonna try my best in the RIPB. (gosh, that sounds so politically correct. heck) Thanks to gee elle the ultraah and cheddar for the support! RIPC Head! or Vice-Head! haha yeah, i'm quite serious about it. I won't mind being vice-head (because zeyang's a really good leader too) but if i can be chairman, why not? It's always fun leading in something you're passionate about. and photography just happens to be one of them. i hope i don't become too busy for RIPC, though. Gymnastics Captain or Vice Captain! this is one of the most uncertain things that i'm uncertain about. Sure, i love the sport, but sometimes I feel constricted in gym. Maybe it's because of the coaches making you do a certain routine every single time. No wonder that's why I love non-training days @ the gym. I'm not sure how responsible I will be, and I definitely think Kwun Tong's a great candidate for it too. Maybe once i stabilize everything i'd love to be the head of the gymnastics team. Stay scandal-free! um, self explainatory. sorry kangjie! -- and that's about it for my school-based life. looks like i'm going to have to work hard this year. but then again, my marks are depressing. On a separate note, Bio test was murder. Rushed down with mchia, renjie and gui to PLMGSS for their investiture. incidentally we were 15 minutes late since Bio test ended at 12 and the PLMGSS invest started at 12.10. woops! their invest was definitely one of the better ones, and they were quite organized. the school feels impressive too, though the tour guide had to keep referring to her notes. i pointed that out to gui (at a side) which i thought was pretty mean. but oh well, tour notes aren't allowed! (technically) and we broke the tradition of asking numbers. hooray! in case you all didn't get it, we DID NOT ask for numbers. Quote of the Day:"This is New." IT IS NEW! |

throwin' roses at your feet; | 7:24 AM
i know it's 11.30, and i really shouldn't be blogging now. but then again, it isn't everyday you find shien blogging about brilliant topics:
The Michael Complex: A state of mind in which one is filled with win and is invigorated. Hence, one can solve a Rubik's cube faster and carry a Crumpler. Side effects include being short and having a weird smile. It is still unknown as of yet how the Michael Complex could affect physical and/or mental developments, but specimens of the Michael are thought to be rare. As of the time of writing, only 1 such Michael specimen has been discovered and located. Researchers, in the good name of science, have tried valiantly over the past 14 years, although to no avail, trying to procure the specimen to dissect and analyse in great detail. The researchers apparently lack the capacity to grab a guy and chop him up with a knife. Projects have been planned to carry out the study of the Michael Complex through the capture of a Michael. Events such as the Prefects' Investiture have been earmarked as a good opportunity to do so. -- Thanks a lot, shien! really, really funny :D check out his revival blog at www.whitesurreality.blogspot.com for more snippets and his ever-famous jasdeep jokes. Quote of the Day:" The researchers apparently lack the capacity to grab a guy and chop him up with a knife."-Shien. (!) PI'08 IS OVER! |

where'd you go? | 7:08 AM
oh hello world -beams-
Michael has finished his Literature, Chinese and English CCT, in which he screwed up 3/3 of them. This means he gets a perfect 100% in screwing up! Congratulations to him who is also incidentally the year's top scorer. this week and next week are official screwed-up weeks. i have suddenly become much more inclined to swear, but as gltheultra! has said, "Michael swearing will be damn weird." hm, i guess so. holee sheet. leonard's car/garage joke about zeblaires are really RA (no, not raffles academy you doofus) won't stop me from dying, will it? Quote of the Day: "this means, you must do more PT!"-Zeb "Do Not Feed the KwunTong."-Kern Choong metal and rock songs are becoming more of my mood. at least it's all over in a 4 day's time. there's something wrong with me nowadays. Do watch it, it's our Drama Challenge! (which got 1st, suckaaaaaaz) when you're [outside] of my world. the nights never seem to [end]. |

life damn tough. | 6:53 AM
Perhaps Guan Lin said it best when he stated adamantly "Life Damn Tough." on his blog address...
looks like i'm still in the essay writing mood from English CCT. Tomorrow's Chinese CCT tomorrow, so if you see a suicide case in the papers, you'd probably know who it is! holeee sheet. -Invites -Guestbook -Decor -Dance -Oral Comm training. my gosh. goodbye, tuesday. Quote of the Day:" I've become so numb, I can't feel you there. I've become number, One, Two, Three, Four, Five... " -pok, ftw. Good luck and God bless to all exam-takers out there. i can't feel you there. |

ten to the end; | 7:33 AM
oh hey there readers. it's my 320th post!
But if you haven't noticed this year the post rate (about 1 per day last time?) has dramatically gone down to about a post every 3 days. And it may go lower in fact, as the next 2 weeks of hell (CCTs + PI 2008!) knock on the doorsteps. -ding dong- okay spasti-ism. maybe it's the w445 cell group's weirdness getting to me. they're a nice bunch of people though, and the 4 hours that i 'invested' today was quite well-spent. can't remember a time where i actually forgot about the other commitments and homework waiting to beat me up during this entire year. though the speaking in tongues part is a little...intimidating. and the forfeits were really plain embarrassing. follow-up makes me sound like some lost cause though, i dunno why. really appreciate the effort though. maybe we could do it for cherith baptist TF or something, the youth team there seems to lack the sheer enthusiasm w445 has. maybe it's just because we're super small compared to other churches or something. maybe i'll lead my own cell group next time (: oh well, homework-day tomorrow. Quote of the Day:"this is my handphone. -raises hand to ear-. now this is my mobile phone. -starts walking-."-Matthew (no, not my brother) and it's ten to the end. but for me and you, it never will be. |

v'dayz | 7:02 AM
oh hello people.
just to add to the mood of love in the air, some really, quoteable quotes around here. "You know, for Valentine's Day the TV is a big distraction. So when you 2 go to your house, pull out the plug on your TV and paste a note on the TV itself. turn me on instead." - 987FM haha it wasn't me it wasn't me. Quote of the Day: "Overwhelming response."-CGS Student Council (added with a :D) so much for formality about replies >:) good luck to all couples and to-be couples tomorrow, whether or not you have a hot date with RIPB. i swear, the entire world stops spinning when you're here. |

just move right through; | 8:46 AM
so yet again, i'm up at about 12.50AM on a Saturday Morning desperately clonking away at a keyboard to make me feel like falling asleep while i'm already exhausted but can't sleep.
don't blame me for not making sense, because making sense is like walking into a wall (for my state) it's probably the same as trying to do physics in chinese, too. anyway, it's quite a sad thing that everyone's finding the CNY season becoming very repetitive, ordinary, boring, sucky, etc. I guess it's really just because every year they play the same music, play the same songs, say the same ji li hua like gong xi fa cai (hong bao na lai :P) and all the same goodies. Though i've taken a particular interest in the CNY goodies this year. Pineapple tarts, Loveletters, Bak Gua. Yumms.Well I guess in the end it really just boils down to sincerity. I've really found out the difference when people are really sincere and when they just want to get it over and done with. In my paternal grandfather's house, I received a lot less angbaos but i felt more touched because the process of giving by the older generation is a lot more - well i dunno, willing to take out time to pass the coveted red packets to you? Whereas in my maternal grandfather's house, I do definitely receive more angbaos (they're a bigger family) but the uncles/aunties seem to be more preoccupied with just giving out the angbao and just seem to want to get it over and done with. maybe we're just too used to following a certain tradition, and never had the time to consider what some honest words and praises could do in place of money and goodies. PS: When did CNY stand for Chinese New Year? Think about it. Quote of the Day: "It's alright, I'm used to you gone already." yeah, right. |

what you said when you left; | 7:22 AM
it's still in the mood of chinese new year, and i'm already feeling guilty for slacking off work and other commitments that doesn't seem very happy waiting at my desk.
happy angbao gathering everyone! Ah Long Pte Ltd with the cousins was rather okay I guess. I think that the price of 9.50 per person was a little (okay, okay VERY) steep. As jingmin joko pointed out maybe we should've bought the VCD instead. Weird part was that some of them think I look like the "Revenge/Guy" version of the female teen bent on revenge on the loansharks. I do hope that's another compliment :D PS: I lost most of my money (5 bucks) at blackjack! nuuuuuuuuu. Quote of the Day:"HELLO! -waves at aunt who's giving out hongbaos.-"-Matthew |

headaway; | 8:47 AM
so i'm blogging this at about 12.50AM in the morning, which means it's already CHINESE NEW YEAR!
oh well, lost all my money at gambling with my family. this proves i'm not meant to be a gambler! (oh fine, so what if i suck?) it isn't the first time luck's not on my side at least. it was pretty fun lan-ning with yimingjiaminghanbinzhengyangryanzongye. jiaming seriously >s at dotA. oh well, thanks to jolyn for the surprising compliment at least. Quote of the Day:"RYAN YOUR SHIRT LOOKS GAY!"-everyone well, it really did. or should i rather say, shirts. |

going back; | 7:25 AM
315th post!
hoorah. 'tis the season where ex-nanyangers sms/msn/call others up and ask the very same question: "Are you going back?" well, i'm probably going back with the RI people. Bad thing is ; nyps ends at 10 while RI ends at 10. which means we probably have a less then 5% chance of reaching back in time to see the teachers. i'll take my chances Quote of the Day:" M: "Don't blame people (milton) for stupidity." KC: "Don't worry, only people that are thickskinned or stupid cannot understand what i'm saying. I prefer to think it's the latter." BenLow: "EH BEE CEE DEE EE EFF GEE..." WHO WANTS TO GO FOR XINMIN/PLMGS/GANENGSENG PREFECT INVESTITURE CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY! maybe fate just isn't right this time. |

james, kelly, leonard, yingjie, zebedee. hope you guys had a blast :D 75 dips today! -waves flag- tomorrow's the last proper day of school before heading off to the different schools to hand their invites. i'm doing MGS, HCI, St Marg's along with Ryan Chan, who's already helpfully taken the invites. hooray, slack for me! Quote of the Day:"Toh Rui Han Zebton."-Milton's weird contraption. maybe i shouldn't have gotten so angry at that sec one. maybe i shouldn't have gotten so entangled in my thoughts of you. |

so long; | 7:22 AM
wowee.
seems like eons ago since i've posted anything. Hundreds of things have happened, while i've been watching them all go past. Peicai Secondary school investiture, hmm. no, seriously, i didn't ask for any girl's number. perfectly serious. though junyang was hinting terribly for me to do so, i bet he was more interested. well, it isn't some ogle-at-girls session, so get that notion out of your brain now, 3A-ians! well, the investiture was, frankly, pretty dry, but i guess the councillors were much more forthcoming and i think the reception was better then the ceremony (is that how it's spelt?) somehow, peicai has a huge fascination for RI. they were inviting school representatives to receive souvenirs (it's some purple plastic thinggum with a pledge of the councillors, etc within it). This was how it roughly went. "Ang Mo Kio Secondary School." -normal clapping- "Beatty Secondary School." -less unenthusiastic clapping- "Montford Secondary School." -same level of clapping- "RI." boom. somehow, that seemed to be the magic word when all the "WOAAAAAAAHS." started emerging and clapping somehow seemed to increase in volume. And since junyang sabo-ed me to go up on stage (his reason something to do with my hair, oddly) it was terribly difficult to control my laughter while i stepped onstage among the catcalls, etc. really, i bet all the schools think we're really smart, until they recognize that we're all just normal singaporean students who just seem to be rafflesians. And NOT the elitist that the world thinks we are. reception was er, better left unsaid. it was definitely more hospitable then the investiture though, but the school tour was quite cool as well. if not for the guides laughing every time they saw each other. the school campus reminds me of the nanyang primary campus 2, cosy. -- speaking of change, it's kinda scary that i find myself changing so fast. i hope i don't change for the worse. for the better, perhaps? PS: few more days to CNY! happy angbao collecting, everyone. Quote of the Day:"AYE NOT EMO! AYE NOT EMO LA!"-gltheultra! thank God invites are over. thank God you're here too; for the world stops when i'm with you. |
