RI Gym Camp '08!

was held from monday to wednesday!

Day 1

training was from 9am-1pm (somehow, it seemed a whole lot lot longer) and i realised that training spirits had lifted (even if it was just a little) because it was, well, gym camp!

after training was lunch - free and easy. So being the very slow kind me, yuan hao , kt and yong sheng went to J8 before we realised that the seniors were at S-11. We still ate at J8 anyway (yoshinoya!) because we didn't feel like eating hawker food. The other places were all probably packed with people, anyway.

Came back and started slacking away. I apologise for the limited number of pictures! We did a comprehensive range of slacking activities:

Reading to mugging books,

playing asshole daidi. It's quite similar to daidi by itself, but there's about 5 (or 6?) players where there's a King, Queen, Commoner, Ass, and Asshole. Ranked by who's first to last, respectively. Somehow I didn't feel like playing daidi even though I like it o_O

Finally got Zeb to actually organize SOMETHING! instead of slacking away and wasting time. Captain's Ball @ the gym turned into Soccer @ the field where it was C div VS AB Div.

May I feel inclined to include the fact that C Div 's ratio was like 3:1 compared to B Div?

Moreover, after the 2 hours of playing it turned out there was some changes. In the end, it became AC + 3/8 of B Div VS B Div. We still pwned them anyway, 7-14 (respectively) at the end :O

Dinner was next!
I think it was KFC at J8 or something. Tasted delicious (though sinful, no doubt) after running for 2 hours in the cold rain. Looking on the bright side, good thing there wasn't lightning or something! Yumyumyum.

Went back, slacked (again!) with Vince and Yingjie where we talked about things-that-cannot-be-named. NO, nothing R-rated, you dirty-minded people. I admit though, it was rather funny.

Bathing was plainly an affair of waiting.

Team Talk! Was trying (and failing) to do my maths assignment which KT finally helped me with. Thanks alot, dude!

Joined zeebeedee and yingjie and the rest at the sec 1/2 sleeping area and busy asking Moses about details to the MGS symposium.

I finally know how to use the ultimate skill for Naruto PSP game! :D
Make-shift counterstrike using fake guns was targeted at a poor piece of cardboard and discarded packeted drinks.
Sleep came after that. Stupid makeshift pillow kept going out of my head.

Day 2

Woke up at about 6 for Morning PT which started off with about a 300m-400m long run to RJC without warm-up? Got a stitch from that which worsened when we were running rounds. Ouch. I do hope my running has improved though; i still have some muscle aches in the thighs.

On a side note, I'm glad to say that pullups and crunches has become much easier! :D

was really glad to end morning PT though.

Breakfast was a subdued affair. nobody wanted to say anything much, apart from the "EH PASS THE MILK LA!" and the grumbles over the lack of variety in breakfast foods. Oh well, it's a camp after all!

Went off at 8.15 after Moses told me that we were meeting up to do the skit for the MGS symposium

And thus ends Day 2 for Gym Camp!

MGS Symposium

met up with mozzie at Serene Centre about the skit. Here's how the skit roughly goes:

Jarret is a very very evil Discipline Board Member of the RIPB. He's a really good actor when it comes to being pompous (like seriously, actor-level!) with his sacarstic remarks

May I quote: "And where did you get those shoes from? I didn't know shoes could be made from mud caked under the sun...."

on attire checks, rofl!

So we basically made him do evil stuff to normal RI students (me and mozzie) while renjie was the fantastic narrator. Good job, guys! Even though it was very impromptu we had the biggest clap and audience after the performance.

my group was X-men! hahaha. At least it was better-sounding then the other groups names (such as powerpuff girls. HAHAHA RENJIE!) and the members inside were pretty nice too! like Collin from ACSBarker, Caiyong from HCI and the rest of the MGS people like Iman, Michelle, Claire (sorry zebedee, wrong one), Jean(sorry for the typo!), Bernice, Hannah, Lydia, etc etc. I couldn't really get the names for the 1st few hours o_o

Symposium was a rather subdued affair. some people started sleeping about halfway through. It was rather boring, but there are definitely things we could learn from other schools! (ahem, i can't recall what :P) and I kept asking questions to the people beside me. woops.

Games was next!

Because it was raining we had to change to wet-activity clothes. (no people, they specifically told us to bring dark-coloured clothes. i'm sorry) and then we went to stations such as the multi-sport station, the action figure station, etc! the stations were pretty fun but some were rather sadistic (like dunking your head into a bucket of water and eating watermelon without hands) and fun too! (like volleyball, except you blew a tissue) Got forced into doing ridiculous stunts =.=

we did pretty well as group, only losing 1 time and winning the other 3 stations! And what was more we were one of the first groups to finish before time and started playing netball in the still-drizzling netball court. I tell you, it is somehow IMPOSSIBLE to get the ball into the scoring ring without cheating of some kind or sheer practice. Note to self: never play guys vs girls in netball. Their scoring (aiming) is imba.

At least intercepting the makeshift basketball was easy :D

Finished after we changed out of the very wet clothes due to the rain. Closing session was followed by autograph-ing and phototaking of each group!

Thanks people for the memories!
and I hope you never walk alone again.

Gym Camp Day 2 - Night!

I thought the gym people had gone outside because the room was all dark. Turned out they were watching an inspirational movie - Peaceful Warrior. Pretty interesting show, i must say and quite philosophical too. Tallegeda nights (sp?) was IQ-loweringly funny!

Sleeping on the mat was a much more comfortable experience compared to the cold stone floor.

Gym Camp Day 3

hooray for waking up late.
Breakfast was slightly more animated, though yongkong and xavier weren't around by day 3. turns out i missed out the arcading from yesterday :(

Mock Competition is damn slack! the aftermath at least. Training was better because coach decided that we were all "very tired" and let us off early!

Good job to all the trampers. You guys did well!

--

and that's about it for gym camp!
you guys better make it up to me for the sleep lost.
not that i can sleep anyway o_o

RIPC Outing tomorrow + camp! (or summat)

Quote of the Day:
"Funny how Yongkong brings up the 10 rounds as a punishment for the loser side when he's winning."-some sec 2 gymnast ( i can't remember who!) while playing soccer.

kill these fears,
i can't take them alone.
