'Tis the Season to be for everyone to be posting about how their Christmas was like (whether or not you've been naughty or nice or just sitting at home stoning at the computer). Christmas this year was special, I feel. Participating in CCIS @ Wisma wasn't exactly my forte, especially talking with people I don't really know, but it was quite a special and unexpected experience that I'm really thankful for. Got a better understanding of how Singaporeans are much more guarded (I feel) as compared to tourists in our Sunny Island. Met brilliant people - There was this Vietnamese guy who was really curious about the Christmas Story. He even gave his contact details! As well as Not-So-Brilliant-People - the Dao-ists (Or should I say, the Counter Dao-ists (HAHA ZI YANG)), mainly Singaporean who seem to think you're a Conman/Conwoman once they see you handing out flyers. It's quite sad actually, to see how Singaporeans treat money as such a precious commodity. Don't get me wrong, having money is good. But being obsessed with having money isn't good. "Hi Ma'am, may I offer you this booklet?" "Must pay money??" But it didn't undermine the fact that I really got a sense of self-satisfaction at the end of the day. Although I didn't get to spend the Eve of Christmas Eve with my parents, it was well-spent time for a good cause :) Will not talk about Luigi-related Christmas Party at my cousin's house. Will not. Though the Japanese-dressed people were really cool. (Nope, photos are non-existent. At least, I want them to be) -- PB Board Farewell was quite good today. Kudos to the Sec 2/3s who organized it! Was really not bad, especially the cool video made. Bleed Green.Black.White.Gold. Oh, did I mention? Our new principal is cool 8) Lego blocks, ftw. Gosh, haven't blogged in eons, ages, and 5 days.
6J'05 Gathering! :) at Pasir Ris Park! Was prettyyyyy successful, I must say. Kudos to Chern Hwee and Han Bin who managed to organize it (with a little bit of help here and there) Everyone bought a little bit of food (chicken nuggets, raw chicken wings, Pasta, limited supply of Fried Rice, sanwiches. And before we knew it, we had too much food to eat. First half of the evening was spent combating the persistent light rain which we valiantly tried to block using wire mesh (with plastic wrap) and a variety of umbrellas. It didn't really catch on till we spammed about half our firestarters, 820974971 matchsticks, truckloads of charcoal and JM's prowess at building barbeques (what a weird term) and fortresses. It was good time eating and talking with people you haven't really met for a p-r-e-t-t-y long time, and somehow I became (pseudo) food checker for all the satay, chicken, etc :S I left early to avoid taking home my pasta >:D Had fun! Pictures are on my facebook, too.  PS: the place was horribly muddy. -- There was another time, where I was taking 855 (bus service, for the uninitiated) to...somewhere. Some tourists, presumably, came on board the bus looking for Queenstown Secondary (which they kinda missed after looking at it zoom past) they seemed to like taking photos, though actually they weren't supposed to be on public transport) and then they suddenly asked to take a photo, with me o_o well, for all those that know me for my vunderful camera aversity, I decided to just go with them. It was nice, somehow, talking to them :) Just a random incident that happened on what seemed to be an ordinary bus ride. -- And it was pretty fun, amidst the lateness (haha, the ironicality ironically came true), late night/early morning rushes, OST, refusals to get wets (TSK, spoilsport), spammages of different drinks and embarrassed laughter, limited supply of camera space (sorry!), butterflies in the park/stomach, the sunny weather (NO RAIN!! Thank God), sabre-toothed dogs, nice notebooks, fat and furry dogs, forced songs, secretive talks and exclusions and the phailure club. we did not fail! CC OIP Gathering!
Was a little late, but then managed to er, get to the bus-stop in time. Shuttle bus was prettyyyyyy full, so some of us had to cab instead. Bowling was just rather fun, especially for those that didn't want to, hah. I bet Hui Hao was laughing at us all at the back. And of course, my top score is now 163, thanks to Delwyn's discovery of the 'CHANGE SCORE' function. -is proud- Ashraf's shirt is horribly chauvinistic, but nevertheless hilarious :D  Coffee Bean was...just disturbing. Delwyn's poor Gingerbread man got kind of decapitated (by my idea, no doubt) and "Headboy Discovers Tissue Paper" : D Well, split up after that for ice-skating/arcade, where we (and our $$) got pwned by Time Crisis and other games like those grabbing-stuff-toy-thingies. FINALLY decided on a destination (Fish and Co and Dhoby Ghaut! Which had pretty darn-ed good music and atmosphere :] Presenting to you, the sole-survivors/people who came for dinner!

HR farewell was more like a farewell for the head (theodore today) because he turned up. well, at least the few of us that turned up did have fun (albeit running in the rain and abandoning Shayne and Desmond) and fooling Shayne who was our completely hopeless (ok, not completely) Orchard Road Tour Guide for the day. RIPB Training Camp tomorrow, will be away. Coach is gonna kill me. Sigh. What happened to the excitement just now? I'm thinking too much, I think. |

well, today wasn't the best of all days.
wonder why we're sometimes all just so fixated on something that we forget about the other individual sacrifices people make. "and in the process forget that others are also human, and end up oblivious to their efforts." - some wise person. I tried, I really did. I did what I thought was right, even though it didn't seem rational. I did what I agreed to, and sometimes it just gets so discouraging. but it's also stupidly funny, in reasons more than one (and events, too) "We're gonna make all the gymnasts dance!" "Hi Ma'am, I'm dropping physics next year!" -jaw drops- "Hi, Shayne knows you! -waves-" I still insist that the green snake's better than my face on camera, hmph. and that is why photog people are cool 8) VBS and HR Farewell to look forward to tomorrow! happy birthday to peiyuan and jolyn! :) |
